Sparring
A confidential space for thinking and reflection, as equals.
Executive Sparring is a confidential, neutral space for thinking and reflection, as equals — a place to prepare strategic decisions, uncover blind spots and strengthen your effectiveness as a leader before you act.
Leadership means regularly making decisions that no one can take off your hands — and that you often have to think through alone. Sparring offers a space outside your organisation for precisely these moments.
Sparring is advisory work.
Unlike traditional consultants, I do not prescribe ready-made courses of action. A sparring partner challenges and supports you through focused questions, honest feedback and, where needed, disagreement.
Relief for those carrying responsibility alone.
Managing directors and executives often find themselves caught between owners, advisory boards, the market and employees — with little room to discuss their doubts openly within the organisation. Sparring gives those doubts a protected space.
Focus on impact — and what lies behind it.
We also discuss the inner concerns that every leader brings. Everyone carries formative experiences, beliefs and unconscious patterns that influence their actions and decisions, whether they notice them or not.
This is where my biographical perspective comes in: a decision that cannot be explained purely in strategic terms often has a story behind it — and that story is worth understanding.
Typical situations
- Preparing far-reaching strategic or structural decisions
- Reflecting on your leadership role and how you handle expectations and pressure
- Entrenched conflicts or strategic deadlock in day-to-day operations
Why work with me
Before I began coaching, I was a partner in a company and worked as a Senior Consultant and legal professional at Arthur Andersen. As an entrepreneur, I also operated in a highly volatile market, led my company through several crises and successfully restructured it. I know the dynamics of leadership, responsibility and complex decisions from personal experience — not only as an observer.
This experience connects with my biography work: many leadership decisions are more closely linked to our personal history than is immediately apparent. This understanding gives Sparring a depth beyond conventional business coaching.
